Description

Lotus White is a next-level opaque white. It works easily in all flame types and leaves a clean, glossy finished surface. Lotus White blows out beautifully and has a smooth, enamel-like quality perfect for sandblasting, etching, and carving.  We recommend layering other transparent colors over this bright white for super juicy color overlays (see example image).

Recommended Garage/Anneal temp: 1075°F

Abnormal Quality Description: Rods that have fallen below first quality and have been deemed Abnormal. This is high-quality, stone-free glass, but the rods are imperfect. They may be oblong, short, slightly thick or thin, have a bit of air or other odd imperfections that affect their appearance. There may be slight color variance in our Abnormal glasses. There are no refunds or exchanges on Abnormal glass – all sales are final.

This color is a great addition to the white colors of the palette and offers (in my opinion) an excellent white for base-lays, line-work and implosions.

When applying I’d recommend an oxidizing flame environment. If coil-potting, mind the heat underneath the rod as to avoid boiling the color too much. Keep your flame a little soft for fine-line lays to avoid boiling spots from forming between lines or dots.

A word of caution: This color is S T I F F! Uneven layers or densities of this color through a piece can prove to make things a little tricky when you’re working it. It also tends to cool pretty quickly, so work with that in mind.

Otherwise pick some up and play around with it! This color makes for some fun base lays for transparent colors and is excellent for adding dots, accents and other flourishes to a piece that needs a dense and friendly-to-work white color.

Pretty much a perfect white (coming from Star White). It does boil, but its FAR more resistant than either of the other 2 manufacturers. It stays opaque even thinned right down, which is very important to me as a miniaturist!
