Description
Xenomorph is an EffecTone which means it will develop interesting hues, tints, and shades as you work it in the flame. In this case, you will achieve electric greens, blues, whites, and more emerging from a dark black background. Xenomorph has a lot of potential for experimentation. We suggest trying clear over or under it for different effects.
Recommended Garage/Anneal temp: 1075°F

If you haven’t tried this color I have one word of advice for you:
Do it!
This color is a fantastically versatile one whether you’re using it as a base, stringers, in blowouts, etc. It’s also one of the more stable thermal-strikers I’ve worked with so far! Under some heavier encasements and extended spot-working, this color hasn’t caused me nearly as many problems with stress-induced cracking of a piece as other strikers of this variety on the market have.
It’s alright in an implosion, but it’s much better suited to being the star of the show on or near the surface of a piece or component whether it’s solid or a vessel.
Encasement treats this color well, enabling wider swaths of the color’s “striking” nature to be affected by heat gradients whereas a pure surface-only application will catch sharper borders and strikes from where the flame hit it.
This color can be worked improperly when on the surface alone, though this happened through an extended period of working this on the surface of a piece in the wrong flame environment. This can produce a sort of muddled hazing of the color, but I’ve used sharp heat and seen cold working remove this haze.
Typically I apply and work this color in a neutral or oxidizing environment, and this beast of a color can handle some heat! I’ve noticed almost no boiling problems when laying this color on, so apply it well and thoroughly!
I tend to have a personal bias towards colors like this where you can explore it and play with it, and I’m so thrilled to see MA getting into some wild experiments with their glass crafting. I’m thrilled to see what they’re capable of with this sort of palette and I couldn’t recommend it more!
