Description
Electrum is a liquidy metallic color with silver and gold hues. The color gradients can shift depending on how it is worked. It can be extremely thinned out and still create a shimmery effect.
THIS COLOR IS STILL IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT. This formula contains a small amount of chromium. Test for your particular application and be sure to anneal sufficiently based on the thickness of your piece.
Recommended Anneal temp: 1075°F

Nothing compares to this color. I haven’t been so excited for a new color in 15 years, thank you! — @Firekist

There are not enough words to describe this gorgeous glass. Totally forgiving of flame chemistry or mis-heating and transmits its liquid metal effect through many transparent colours. Great backing for fume work tjo I am advised to sleeve on clear first. It has a long memory, so stripes and coils are visible for a long time

This color offers an experience that is very fun and unique to the Borosilicate palette. It’s like painting with metal, and all I could say while working it is “this color doesn’t feel like it should be allowed to exist. In short: It’s like painting with brass.
Flame Chemistry:
Forgiving, but advised to keep an oxidizing flame when possible.
Annealing:
Very forgiving here as well, though I would highly recommend using the proper schedules for chromium-containing colors, as this lineup does still have some. But thus far long hot garages and annealing cycles through layers of encasement and implosion haven’t given us any issues with this lineup.
Other Notes:
This color is excellent as a backing or on its own. Play around with it! Twist, pull, trench and swirl this color around and watch the brassy sparkles take forms you can rarely see in glass.
